Absorptive type silencers are available to provide very low pressure drop. They are designed specifically to reduce the noise at the naturally aspirated and turbo-charged engines.

These silencers are recommended for optimum silencing applications. SILEO reactive–absorptive silencers provide broad-band silencing under the most adverse pulsating flow conditions. Multi-resonator chambers interconnected by choked tubes give large attenuation at Low frequencies.
Secondary dissipative section increases the effective attenuation across the audible frequency range.
